Dr. Sophie (Yoon-Mi) Matracia was born and raised in South Korea. In 1998 she left her career as a physical therapist and moved to Sacramento, CA to start a new life in dentistry. Dr. Sophie received a full-ride scholarship to UCLA, and in 2003 graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry.
She next studied at The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and there fell in love with pediatric dentistry. In 2007 she once again graduated with high honors, accepted a position as Resident at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH and The Ohio State University.
During her residency, Dr. Sophie performed extensive research in one of her true passions, assisting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She graduated from her residency in June 2009 and joined the staff of Haring Dentistry.
Dr. Sophie’s hobbies include running, swimming, cooking and traveling the world with her husband, Jeff and playing with their golden retriever.
Dr. Kelly Gay grew up in a small town in Northeastern Ohio. It took one Buckeye football game when she was very young to set her Ohio State bound after high school. Her interests in art and biological sciences made dentistry a natural career choice.
After graduating from The Ohio State School of Dentistry, she returned to her hometown for five years to practice general dentistry with her father. Always preferring to work with kids and enjoying the challenges of treating their dental needs, Dr. Gay felt compelled to do a residency in pediatric dentistry and complete her master’s degree. Once again she was a Buckeye and part of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Gay lives in Dublin with her husband Ken and their three children. In her free time she enjoys reading, photography and digital scrapbooking.
